Art Mentoring Program at Mountain Creek State High School
In 2013, the Art Mentoring Program was launched. This program draws on Senior Art student volunteers, who have been also nominated by a Visual Art staff member to assist in Junior Secondary Visual Art classes. Senior students are assigned to classes during Session 5 and 6, outside their normal school hours, to inspire their younger peers, and act as ‘buddies’ or ‘mentors’ as the younger students build their own confidence in Art Making and Appreciation.
Interested Senior students can forward their nominations to Head of Creative Industries and Visual Art Teacher Jessica Stansbie (Fraser Sub School).
